Niki Ahrens, M.Ed., B.S-T., IDI QA
Niki Ahrens has been teaching indoors and outdoors for 18 years and is an author of science and craft books for children. After ten years in public schools, Niki wandered into nature education and became a UCCE certified California Naturalist, then a nature education coordinator for a nature center. She holds a Master of Education degree in Policy and Leadership Studies from the University of Washington and a Bachelor of Science in Teaching degree. She serves on two 501c3 Boards and an open space citizens advisory committee, writes grants to help public school students experience local biodiversity and nature, publishes newsletters about local nature, and is probably out birding in her neighborhood with her family.

Niki has partnered with Lerner Publishing Group, Disney, and Science Buddies to author ten non-fiction books for school libraries, is currently writing a Disney title, and is photographing six additional Disney makerspace books.
