Niki Ahrens, M.Ed., B.S-T., IDI QA
I have been teaching indoors and outdoors for 20 years and have authored 14 non-fiction books for children. After ten years in public schools, I wandered into nature education and became a UCCE certified California Naturalist, then a nature education coordinator for a nature center. I hold a Master of Education degree in Policy and Leadership Studies from the University of Washington and a Bachelor of Science in Teaching degree. I serve on a 501c3 Board and an open space citizens advisory committee, write grants to help public school students experience local biodiversity and nature, publish newsletters about local nature, and am probably out birding in my neighborhood with my family.
